The Last Poets

DSH Entertainment, Inc.® - in partnership with The A.D.H. Foundation, Inc. - brings you a night you won't want to miss.

The Legendary Last Poets Return to Chicago for an "Unforgettable Reunion Night"

Long before hip-hop had a name, there was a group of young Black poets in Harlem turning anger, pride, and truth into rhythm. That group was The Last Poets –  and what they started in the late 1960s changed music forever.

To perform some of their most memorable recorded poetry.  Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm.

Formed in 1968 during one of the most turbulent chapters of American history, The Last Poets combined spoken word with hand drums and raw, unfiltered honesty. Their words weren’t just performances – they were a mirror held up to the times, speaking directly about racism, injustice, and Black identity at a moment when few artists dared to say it that plainly. That fearless style is exactly why so many music historians call them the true godfathers of hip-hop, decades before the genre even existed.

That’s exactly the kind of powerful, meaningful live entertainment DSH Entertainment, Inc.® was built to bring to the stage. For years, DSH has made it a mission to connect Chicago and Albuquerque audiences with artists who don’t just perform – they leave a mark. Bringing The Last Poets back for this reunion is a perfect example of that mission in action: giving longtime fans and a new generation alike the rare chance to witness living history, delivered live.

This isn’t just a concert. It’s a chance to hear the voices that helped shape an entire cultural movement, with the same raw energy that made them icons in the first place –  brought to you by the same team known for curating unforgettable nights. Whether you grew up on their records or you’re discovering them for the first time, this is one DSH Entertainment event you don’t want to miss.
